1. Official Booking & Permit Regulations

All wildlife safari drives inside Rajaji National Park are strictly regulated by the Uttarakhand Forest Department under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. To ensure a smooth, hassle-free excursion, guests agree to the following statutory guidelines:

  • Advance Quota System: Forest Department entry permits are issued on a strict first-come, first-served vehicle quota per safari gate (Chilla, Ranipur, Jhilmil Jhel, Chillawali Mohand, Vindhyawasini, Motichur). Advance booking is strongly recommended.
  • Government ID Requirements: Original valid government photo IDs (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport) must be carried by every adult passenger at the gate. For foreign nationals, original passport with valid Indian visa is mandatory.
  • Vehicle Capacity: Each government-registered 4x4 open Gypsy accommodates a maximum of 6 tourists plus 1 certified naturalist guide and 1 driver. Overloading is strictly prohibited by forest law.

2. Safari Timings & Punctuality

Safaris operate in two shifts daily (Morning & Afternoon). Gates open and close precisely as per the seasonal timetable notified by the Forest Department:

  • Winter Timings (Nov – Feb): Morning Shift: 06:30 AM to 09:30 AM | Afternoon Shift: 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM
  • Summer Timings (Mar – Jun): Morning Shift: 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM | Afternoon Shift: 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM
  • Mandatory Reporting: Guests must report at the designated safari reception gate at least 15 to 20 minutes before departure time for document verification and permit stamping.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

We maintain complete transparency in our cancellation and refund process:

  • Up to 48 Hours Before Safari: 100% Free Cancellation on operator service charges. If you need to reschedule or cancel your trip, notify us at least 48 hours before your safari shift.
  • Government Statutory Permit Fee: Forest entry permit fees and road taxes once deposited with the Uttarakhand Forest Department portal are non-refundable as per state government rules.
  • Park Closure by Forest Department: If safari operations are suspended due to severe weather, torrential rains, flash floods, or administrative forest closures, full refunds or immediate date adjustments will be offered.
  • Refund Processing: Approved refunds are processed directly to the original payment method within 3 to 5 business days.

4. Wildlife Ethics & Safety Protocols

For your personal safety and the preservation of wildlife habitats:

  • Guests must remain seated inside the 4x4 open Gypsy throughout the safari drive. Stepping down inside the core forest is illegal and punishable under forest law.
  • Smoking, consumption of alcohol, carrying plastic disposable bags, and littering inside the park are strictly prohibited.
  • Do not shout, blow vehicle horns, tease wildlife, or use camera flash. Listen closely to the instructions of your certified naturalist guide (Rehman & Jishan Rehman).
  • Natural sightings: While Rajaji Tiger Reserve has healthy populations of wild Asian elephants, Bengal tigers, and leopards, animal movements in natural habitats cannot be artificially guaranteed. Our certified trackers use fresh pugmarks and alarm calls to maximize sighting chances.
